World-class Chef/Owner, Michel de Preux was born in the town of Sion in the Valais region of French speaking Switzerland. Living in an area known internationally for its dedication to hospitality, Michel began his ascent into the world of gastronomy via the programs offered by the highly esteemed "Societe Suisse Des Hoteliers". Subsequently he joined the elite of Swiss gastronomy as Chef of the famous Lion d'Or in Geneva, a member of the "Grande Tables de Suisse" - an honor bestowed exclusively upon the highest quality restaurants whose chefs have mastered the culinary art.
In the United States, among his most prominent positions, Michel accepted the role of Chef with the renowned French gourmet restaurant, IVANA's at the Trump Plaza Hotel in Atlantic City. Continuing this linkage with restaurants achieving worldwide critical acclaim, Michel became Executive Chef at the five-star Capital Hotel in Little Rock, AR, where his outstanding cuisine led to receipt of the prestigious DiRoNA Award (Distinguished Restaurants of North America). As additional recognition of his extraordinary contribution to the world of fine dining, Michel became a recipient of the James Beard Foundation Award, participating in the preparation of a gourmet dinner for the Foundation's membership in New York City.
